April 2019

On March 28th Christian packed up the apple tree he had started from seed two years before to deliver to his grandparents for safe keeping while we were on vacation.
And Skittles too!

After arriving in Fort Lauderdale on the 29th we relaxed at our hotel and enjoyed their giant beach chair.

We boarded our cruise ship on the 30th using our new passports.

On March 31st we docked at Princess Cays, Bahamas.

We used our new full-face snorkel masks and LOVED them!

Back on the ship.

Formal night photos:

April 1st we docked at Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos and enjoyed a glass bottom boat excursion,

then beach time and more snorkling.

The 2nd was a sea day, so we strung some bracelets,

ate lots of soft serve ice cream,

and played mini golf in the wind.

On April 3rd we arrived at CuraƧao where we first explored Fort Amsterdam in Willemstad

Then we boarded a bus for our excursion and rode to Hato caves. Our guide assured us that even though it looked really cloudy that it wouldn't rain on us because it wasn't the rainy season. Boy, was she wrong! Right after we arrived, it started to downpour and continued to the full twenty minutes we were in line to tour the caves. We were like drowned rats! But the caves were really cool and worth it!

By the time we exited, the sky was clear. Here are some of the cacti.

We stopped to walk out and see wild flamingos.

Then went to a beach to enjoy some more beach time!

Later that evening, we crossed the bridge and explored the town

On the 4th our ship docked at Aruba. We decided to hit up our favorite--Eagle Beach.

Faith found this sticker in the port shops :D

Had to have Guy's Burgers, which are AMAZING!!

The comedian that evening was really funny. His name is Jason Blanchard.

The 5th was another sea day. We just relaxed around the ship and I finished my book.

April 6th was our last day and another sea day. We enjoyed our favorite onboard entertainment group--Sapphire Strings.

And relished our last sunset.

Bud figured out where to stand and be picked up by the ship video camera which live streams on the t.v.

We debarked on the morning of the 7th and said goodbye to our cruise director.
Unfortunately, we didn't make it on either of the flight options that day and we had to stay in a hotel. We had a bit of an adventure walking around trying to find an international grocery store in an industrial area, but it closed just before we made it there.

The next day, we finally made a standby flight back to Utah, but had to go through Boston.

Here are some of our souvenirs:

On April 15th Christian got his braces off!

Here he is at a scout troop activity on the 16th.
Easter egg dying on April 20th.

At church on Easter morning.

Visiting the grandparents' with a little bunny :)

I chaperoned a 6th grade field trip on April 23rd. First, we visited the Larry H Miller movie theater in Centerville where we watched a nature film.

Then we drove to Salt Lake and toured the KSL building.

We saw the set of Fresh Living,

and watched live (right off camera!) while a portion of the news at noon was filmed.

Hearing from a disc jockey upstairs in the radio section was fun, too.

On the 25th I baked some boterkoek for our Relief Society activity.

I am on the activity committee and I was responsible for invitations and decor.

It turned out really fun!

The 27th was Prom. Jonah had asked her using a baby pool filled with ball pit balls. Faith had to find all the ones with letters on them and decode the message.

She answered with an Easter basket full of treats, including our favorite See's chocolates.

Faith looked absolutely stunning!

They did a photoshoot downtown Kaysville,

and a cute farmhouse, shot by Desi Jo's mom.

They ate dinner at Jonah's house and then went to the Capitol building for the dance.

We celebrated Tony's 48th birthday on the 28th.
