june 2017

June 2nd was the kids' last day of school. That night they had a sleepover with Tam & the next day they went mini golfing.

On the 4th Faith drove us to In & Out.

My favorite burger is protein style (lettuce wrapped).

That evening, I went with Merijo and her son hiking the Ensign Peak trail overlooking the Utah State Capital.

On the 7th, I led our summer Riot group (we don't pay or have trainers in the summer, we just meet at the park) in the Big Toy workout using some of the playground equipment .

That night Christian certainly enjoyed his fettuccine!

I had someone take a pic of me working out on the 9th to submit for my work's fitness challenge.

We headed up to park city that night and the kids went walking with grandpa on the 10th.

While the girls shopped the outlets that afternoon, Bud and grandpa found a comfy bench to hang out on.

On June 13th, Faith left for girls' camp. The weather was not great that day!

Bud needed a lot of mom time since his sister wasn't there to entertain him. On the 14th we played a bunch of board games.

We even made a friend out in our backyard.

Christian wanted to do something "epic" so on the 15th we went on a hike up Adams canyon in search of the waterfall.

Gorgeous scenery, and only a little scary!

We made it!!

And we even spotted some wildlife.

It was so awesome, I even earned myself a kisseroo!

On the 16th, I led Riot again. This time we did this:

That afternoon, we went to my work's summer party. It was super hot and not a ton of fun, but we did get a bit of food,

took advantage of the petting zoo,

played a game or two,
and waited for our turn in the escape room. Unfortunately, one of the clues was broken and it prevented us from solving the last puzzle and escaping :(

June 17th I made a low-carb early Father's day breakfast of fritata, bacon, and keto maple pecan muffins.

That afternoon was Bud's piano recital. He picked an arrangement of the Gravity Falls theme song which was a bit above his skill level, but still killed it!

That night the kids brought their mattresses into the family room and had a sleepover. On the morning of the 18th I found Skittles still stretched out snoozing!

On the 22nd I made cheese shell taco cups and keto maple pecan mini muffins to take to book club.

On the 23rd I took the kids to a bake sale.

On the 24th made French toast and Bud decorated his with smiley faces :)

June 29th Bud and I took faith on part of the Adams hike!

On the 30th I stopped by Bowman's and Christian talked me into getting him a donut as big as his head!

That night I made garlic beef skewers with grilled onion and red pepper, and brown sugar glazed grilled pineapple.

May 2017

May 1st found us at Christian's ballroom recital. This was a fun Indiana Jones themed number:

On the 3rd I chaperoned a field trip to the landfill and water conservancy. We had the windows cracked since it was a bit warm in the bus. As we pulled up to the dump, kids started commenting on the stink and plugging their noses. This cute girl in front of us exclaimed, "I'm just used to this smell, I have three brothers!" LOL

For "May the fourth be with you" I did some Star Wars themed treats for the kids and to take to Bunco.

For Cinco de Mayo Michelle Barber threw a party at Barnes park and invited all the Riot members. It was also a going away party for Marti Hulet who was moving to St. George :(

On the evening of May 8th my JetBlue neighborhood friends and I hopped a plane to Orlando. We had our flights and one night of hotel paid for as part of the Community Connection program because we had completed over 150 hours of volunteer work the previous year.

We decided to stay together and hang out the next day at Cocoa beach.

Poor Alison had sprained her ankle on a trail run the day before :(

On the 10th we lazed around the pool at Mariott Spring Hill Suites at Flamingo Crossings,

then went to the dinner and presentation that night.

And pictures with CEO Robin Hayes.

Par-tay!!

On the 11th we hung out at Downtown Disney,

and ate lunch at House of Blues.

Finally back with my family and we decided to all hang out in bed on the 13th!

After snuggling, we went to the movies.

I'm such a great parent that I let Bud get old fashioned candy cigarettes at the Station Park candy store.

The 14th was Mothers' Day and I thought it would be a fine idea to cut myself some bangs that morning.

After church, we got some grandma love!

May 18th I made a copycat Cafe Rio sweet pork salad recipe. Christian decided to pretty his up a bit.

Tony and I are trying to watch our carbs, so we had protein style animal style hamburgers from In & Out on the 19th, but Bud requested crepes.

May 22nd was Zach's high school graduation.

On the 25th Bud got to compete in a cub scout Raingutter Regatta. His sail had problems, but it was still fun!

That night he decided to put bubble bath in our spa tub and make crazy bubble foam.

Even Faith had fun tossing some foam around!

The 26th was our final day of Riot until the fall. The stroops company brought this crazy blow-up and we did an epic workout with it and other stroops bands!

That afternoon Bud made this cool Harry Potter-esqe wand with a branch from the back yard, hot glue, a marble, and paint.

I thought these memes were perfect for Tony, LOL!!

On May 29th we went to the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

On the 30th, I volunteered for both morning and afternoon sessions of field day (because I obviously must have suffered a brain aneurysm just prior to signing up for a full day of "fun" instead of just a half).

I ran a relay game where there were cups on a string and the kids used water cannons to move the cup to the other side.

On the 31st I met up at the Cheesecake Factory with work friends who I'd gone through JetBlue training with over five years ago. It was so fun to catch up with these awesome ladies!
