September 2015

September 1st was Christian's actual birthday, and because he was sad that he had to wake up early for school, I made him special breakfast of egg in the nest & bacon!

I even checked him out of school to take him to lunch. Betcha couldn't have guessed where he chose!

Our sweet home teacher, brother Decker, brought him a gift of gummy CTRs.

And even though we already had his fancy birthday cake that he decorated, Tony brought home a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for that night. It's especially awesome that they're half off on Tuesdays!

On the 4th we went up to the condo. Christian had fun playing in the MagicMesh screen door.

Went to Swiss Days early with the kids, mom and dad, and Joy. We looked through the booths and Christian found this awesome to whirly ball illusion art and a whistle that sounds like a bird.
He outboard fairly early on and dad was nice enough to sit out with him and eat giant scones, then take him back to the condo.

Faith got sunglasses from mom, earrings from Joy, and the school necklace which contains a real moth wing. We love the boots that had all of the insect jewelry!
Mom got me some awesome sunglasses, as well :)

That afternoon we went to swim in the crater with Joy's family and dad.

So cool!

Later we stopped by Arby's for some dinner,

then more swimming!

On the 5th the kids went on an early walk with grandpa.

Joy and Jordon went to Swiss days, but Tony, the kids and I, and dad went to the sheepdog trials in Soldier Hollow.

We got to see a wild animal show. We got to pet a skunk

and a hedgehog,

a heat big rabbit,

and we even paid for Buddy to hang out with a fox!

We also saw the frisbee dog show.
It was actually much more fun than I even expected. We were all very impressed with the skill of the cattle dogs!

That evening we ate dinner at Ruby Tuesday's.

Christian loves it when Jordon tortures him!

August 7th we had Mickey waffles just for fun :)

Eric texted me this rad pic of him in Paris.

Saw this quote on Facebook and loved it ❤️

Christian soccer game on the 12th.

August 13th Chelsea was married to Brian (Laz) 💕

  Gorgeous couple!

Because it had been so long past his birthday, Christian couldn't wait any longer for presents at grandma Peterson's!

Another cool picture from Eric's European vacation

On the 14th we volunteered to clean our church building. Faith didn't love it so much, but Christian was really into it!

I thought the kids deserved a Slurpee break after that.

On the 16th we got to be instructed by high fitness at love 2 dance for our Riot class. It was a really fun aerobic dance workout!

The 17th was "mismatched" day at school as part of red ribbon week. Puerto Rico hat, Santa shirt, swimsuit shorts, one shoe and one flip-flop certainly fit the bill 😂

September 20th our ward split again for maybe the sixth time since we've lived here? We have always been part of the Kaysville sixth Ward except last split, they renamed the sixth Ward Havenwood ward. This time we were split out into the Wellington ward.
Actually a fairly logical ward boundary geographically, but we were surprised that we were left with so many people, still a huge primary and a giant nursery!

The other shocker is that there wasn't any room in a building near us. We already practically passed four churches to get to the stake center where we were meeting, but our new building is in another stake and another city! It's all the way up in Fruit Heights near the corner of 200 N. and Highway 89 😳

The thing that really rubbed me wrong is that, even though that there was only one church in that building and they had had the prime 9 AM timeslot for the last several years, our bishop or stake president offered to take the 1 to 4 timeslot, and not even change in January like most other wards, so we have to be in that time until 2017!!!!! I, of course send off some kind, thoughtful texts to those I know ;)

The 23rd was crazy sock day, so Christian borrowed Faith's St. Patrick's Day kneehighs.

The 24th was the final day of the Kaysville farmers market, so Faith and I took a trip there with our Skittle while Christian was at the stake Cub Scout carnival.

On the 26th I finally finished slicing our two boxes of peaches. This year we really flubbed it up and waited too long and there were hardly any available, so we had to pay a higher price 😡

Loved this meme from Facebook:

Finally on September 27th, we had a cake for Christian at my mom and dads. He had been wanting to try the super chocolatey cake we had seen at Cosco. It was way too chocolatey with too much frosting!

August 2015

August 1 was Chelsea's bridal shower at the union Grill in Ogden. Faith didn't make it because of not feeling well, but it was very nice.

Luckily she started feeling better and we went to the new mission impossible movie that night.

On the 2nd, Christian decided to bake and frost a cake and sing happy birthday to "anyone" 😂

The next day he funneled his crazy into dressing up.

I saw this online and it reminded me of how Tony feels:

Figured I would add a "real life" pic, so here are the kids on August 8th playing on their electronic devices.

The 10th was Bud's first day of school-3rd grade for this guy.

Taking the arts down off the art crawl, here is the card Christian made Tony for Father's Day.

This character is from the movie Big Hero 6. Christian did such a great job on him!

Faith drew this Donald. Amazing!

Faith made the gorgeous sunset picture as a school assignment,

and Christian wanted to duplicate the technique :)

Some watercolors of dogs: the top when his buddies and the bottom one, Faith's.

For our anniversary on August15th, I posted some wedding album photos on Facebook.

On the 19th but wanted to make sure I got a picture of this giant bubble.

Here are some funny memes that I have enjoyed lately.

August 21st we took the family to Texas roadhouse. Christian sure loves throwing peanut shells on the floor!

The 24th was Faith's first day of school-8th grade.

On the 28th the kids drug the cotton candy machine up from the basement.

The next day, Christian had a soccer game

and for some reason, the kids celebrated by eating popcorn chicken from Walmart

Because it was his birthday week soon, Christian got to be the happy camper in his school class. I thought his answers the questions were so cute!

That afternoon was Havenwood days – – a neighborhood party mostly sponsored by people who live on Havenwood Street. Christian was not happy about me suggesting that he ride in the bike parade,

but loved all the other activities there!

August 30th was Brendan's missionary farewell. Sarah was not super thrilled that the bishop asked the stake president for special consideration to have her speak that day as well, but she did a great job. We sure loved Brendands talk and especially all he expressed about being socially awkward and therefore reading his talk from the paper without looking up :)

Sarah had sent out a lot of his artwork in her from the living room and I can't believe how talented he is!

He's been called to the Marshall Islands mission, which was a bit surprising seeing as he put on his mission papers under medical problems "I'm a ginger and sunburn easily." 😂

Sarah had a brunch at her house afterward. I brought lots of crepes and toppings including powdered sugar, strawberries, Nutella, bananas & cream cheese filling.

When we got home, Christian finish decorating his birthday cake.

He'd made the fondant dinosaurs the day before. It turned out so cool!

We had a few minutes to pick the garden, then headed to Braegger's.

On the way, the weight of the dinosaurs caved in part of the bottom cake! We just pretended it was like the dinosaurs were escaping from Jurassic Park.

Tammy outdid herself on this balloon! She also had bracelets, gift bags (with trail mix, Jurassic World fruit snacks and candy in them), and little bags of milk duds which were labeled "fossilized dinosaur poop"!

He asked for money and that's what he received! He also got a Jurassic Park t-shirt and one which was too small for Tammy exchanged for the DVD of the movie.

It was an awesome birthday party!
