August 2014

On August 4th it was my mom and dads stake lagoon day. Faith was still out of school for summer break, so she went with my mom and dad. Christian, who started early due to his crazy year-round school schedule had to wait Until after school to go. We had sent our parking pass with mom and dad, so Christian and I got to ride the bus over.

The cousins rode rattlesnake Rapids about a million times and got drenched!

On the 8th, my friend Janine was in town with her boys. I hadn't seen her in years and years since she moved to Montana to work for wildlife management of the Flathead Indian Reservation. She is now a professor at the Salish Kootnai College. I forgot to take any pictures, so I stole this one from her Facebook page.
her boys were so adorable and sweet! They joined her family originally as foster children and she & Dennis got to officially adopt them in September 2011.

A few years ago on Facebook I mentioned how lucky her boys are to have a mom who is one of the most amazing women I know and she responded that she was the lucky one :) What a neat family! It was so fun catching up with her.

On the 9th we ate breakfast at Golden Corral and Christian brought a ton of change to stick in the machines, as usual.

Here's my buddy on the 13th with little balloons made from water balloons and posing as his big muscles ;)

That day we decided to have an ultimate taste test between Häagen-Dazs caramel cone and Ben & Jerry's Americone dream ice creams. Tony and I thought there was no contest, Häagen-Dazs won hands down. The kids, however thought the opposite!

August 14th was "Thunder Camp" where incoming 7th graders got to tour the school and be assigned a locker while the parent received information from the counselors and principal. Faith is so excited to go to Centenial Jr. High!

On the 15th Lana and Tammy took the kids school shopping. Look at that haul!

The next day we went to the movie theater to see guardians of the galaxy. The kids and I loved it, but Tony thought it was only okay.

On the 19th I made temple pancakes for breakfast. Not to brag, but I think they turned out pretty great! Christians Trey is supposed to represent "I love to see the Temple."

I made the special breakfast because the kids and I had tickets to go to the Ogden Temple open house that day!

This Christus statue was in the visitor center at the end of the tour.

It's so much prettier now than it used to be!

To complete our date, I took the kids for soup at Kneaders and I got them chocolate dumb desserts that we affectionately referr to as "chocolate boobs."

August 22nd we got to go to the condo at Park city and hang with grandma, grandpa and the cousins.

Here are the kids on the 23rd after getting to walk to 7-Eleven with grandpa and stopping by the firehouse for a tour on the way back.

It was sprinkling a bit, but the gondolas were running and we finally took a ride!

That night we played catchphrase and the kids had so much fun. Even Christian and Noah got in on the action!

The 25th was Faith's first day of school and first day of junior high!

She painted her nails special for the occasion. Her pointer is a pencil, then notebook paper, composition book and ruler. Her thumb had an apple on it :)

Not to be left out, Buddy made himself some rad glitter tattoos with a set we got on clearance at Walmart.

Just for fun, on the 27th Christian and I walked on the back road North west of our house and visited with the horses.

August 28th we visited the farmers market. The kid craft was making pencil mustaches. (??)

And we got to taste test all kinds of yummy tomatoes.

We celebrated Christian's upcoming birthday on the 31st. Faith helped him make this awesome magician cake, A top hat with a rabbit popping out and a magic wand.

Tammy outdid herself with these awesome gumball magic wands and darling (play on words) bags of Twix :D

November 2014

Even though Faith wanted a Halloween themed friend birthday party, the week before did not work out so she held it on November 1st. She made these darling invitations for it:

Of course she wanted all kinds of Pinterest worthy snacks for the event. There was a jack-o'-lantern barfing guacamole,

deviled eggs that look like pumpkins, ghost bananas and Mandren orange pumpkins,

googly-eyed cups and hand shaped ice in the punch bowl

and cute spider ring cupcakes!

Her friends all looked darling dressed up.

We had them make individual mini pizzas.

Then played some games including mafia which I narrated.
Faith loved it so it was a huge hit!

On the 3rd I made a big Asian food feast of beef with broccoli, sushi, edimame and eggrolls.

On the 4th I voted for Tony and I. I was going to vote in person, but the lines were so long that the wait was going to be about two hours, so I drove home and got the packets and turned those in instead. Posted on Facebook that the incumbents could suck it!!!

Bud and Skittle-be-little still like to snuggle in the mornings. Here they are on November 7th.

On the 8th we went to the theater to see Big Hero 6. We loved it!

That afternoon we had Duncan Jewel come over to swap out burned Christmas light bulbs and had to borrow the Willden's long ladder.

At the grocery store, Christian found a very dignified holiday hat ;)

And Faith finally found something she wanted for her birthday – – footie pajamas!

On the 10th Christian made his own version of a cake pop.

And on the 14th his sister helped him get some wild and crazy hair, complete with a mohawk and long braided rat tail!

November 15th we took the kids ice skating at Station Park.

We saw Mockingjay part 1 on the 22nd. Faith is still very into the hunger games series.

The 27th was Thanksgiving. We have some fun turkey finding adventures at mom and dads and then a delicious dinner.

Then over to Braegger's for some quick pictures

and yet another delicious dinner!

November 28th was our traditional girls night at the nutcracker.

And the 29th we rode the train downtown for dinner at Tucano's

and a visit to Temple square. It was the night of the tree lighting so it was crazy, but still a lot of fun.
