Some November happenings

We celebrated Faith's birthday at home on her actual birthday: November 1st. She requested German Chocolate cake. I cannot believe that it was ten years ago that I gave birth to my little baby Faith!

On the 5th it snowed and the kids couldn't even wait to change out of their pajamas to play in it!

On the 6th we celebrated Faith's birthday at the grandparents. We stopped by Braegger's so they could see both cakes intact,

then over to my mom & dad's for dinner and presents.

Faith's big gift was a new bedding set--in zebra stripes and pink!

Faith wanted a Twilight Bella bride cake, designed it, and decorated nearly all of it herself (I helped assemble the pieces and crumb coat)! Christian thought  his pirate doll made a good Edward.

We needed a bit more cake for all the family members, so we also got a WalMart one.

Christian wanted to be in charge of the camera at Braegger's, and he decided to video instead of take pics.

Here's Buddy on Nov. 10th with his Dusty's fuzzy belly.

And here's the wooden sign that I finally finished right before Halloween. Hey, I only started it the year before! ;)

We also decided to have some fun with the camera timer that day.

On the12th the Lowe's project was this cool science set. The kids had a blast doing some of the experiments at home.

On the 18th Buddy's preschool class had a Thanksgiving feast where each child brought a traditional Thanksgiving dinner food. He loved that Miss Kelly went all out with a tablecloth, turkey plates and napkins! There was even sparkling grape juice to drink.

The 19th we got to go to a free Santa breakfast at the Layton Hills mall. The kids painted their nails for the event.

It was sponsored by Chik-fil-A and the kids got a nugget meal with fruit cup and apple juice for breakfast. Their favorite!

Next, we were off to Lowe's to make Santa's sleigh. Look at all the patches on their aprons!

And for some extra fun that day, we fed the ducks at Barne's park.

Here's Christian on the 20th with his favorite of Grandma Braegger's Christmas decor. It plays music and has a train that spirals up and down the tree.

On the 21st Tammy took me shopping to Torrid in the Fashion Place Mall to try on some boots I saw online. Christian found this cool hat to try on at Penny's.

That night, Faith and I went to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 with Chelsea, Tina, Lana and Tammy. We grabbed a bite at Olive Garden first.

We had Lana take Baby out for the honeymoon scene, but it was shorter than we thought it would be. She was mad! But overall loved the movie and the girls' night out

End of October

On October 21st we went to a Halloween party at my mom & dad's. We all loved Jordan's hospital patient costume :)

It was especially disturbing when he would drink the apple juice out of his ostomy bag.

Joy was a bathing beauty with her little rubber ducky. (They dressed up because they went straight from this party to their ward trunk-r-treat.

Here are all the adorable chillens:
Faith as a corpse bride, Celeste as a panda, Brendon and Noah in matching Link (from Zelda) costumes, Brandt as a ducky, Lily as Jasmine, Alaura as a vampiress, Sierra as Cinderella, and Christian as a staked vampire.

We played throw the eyeballs, toss the glow ring around the witch's hat, pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern, and Halloween Bingo. They got to pick prizes from an awesome selection. The adults that won got to pick a little baggie--mine held $20!!

We ate chicken garlic pizza from Papa Murphy's, pepperoni pizza from Tony's and had root beer with dry ice to make it spooky. Such a fun party!

On the 22nd the kids made monster trucks (even being driven by monsters) at Lowe's.

We stopped in at Target for a few things, including deli and bakery samples. Buddy needed a picture of all the gorgeous cakes.

On the 23rd we were at Lagoon again!

On the 25th we picked what was left in our garden before the freeze came. Love that fresh produce!

On the 27th we carved our pumpkins. The ones we got with Tammy and some extras we picked up from alongside 200 North at a family's little stand.

The 28th was Christian's preschool Halloween party. Couldn't get the kids to stand still long enough to take a good picture, though!

That night was our ward trunk-r-treat. We parked next to the coolest "trunk"--a huge fire truck!

We had a great time, but they did the candy collecting and then ate dinner afterward. The problem was that it was set up in the bowery instead of inside the building! We had some delicious soups and the kids helped themselves to rolls and treats, then we pried our butts up (which were frozen to the metal picnic benches) and went home to defrost :)

We, of course, had to go to Lagoon the last day it was open this year which was the 29th. Even though the spring was too cold and snowy to get in many trips, we sure made up for it in the summer and especially the fall!

This is the hay "maze" (more like a one-way path) where the kids got to collect prizes from dressed up characters.

That night was Joy & Jordan's big Halloween party. I brought low-carb treats that I could partake of! They're just deviled eggs with olive spiders or paprika on them. Creepy!

I think we looked extra awesome.

Poor Joy decided to dress up as the hunchback, Quasimodo, after she woke up that morning to find her eye swollen shut from a makeup allergy. She did such cute games for the kids, all the while battling her condition and caring for a newborn!

Here is Eric with his date, Lisa.

A week or so before, Eric had mentioned that Lisa was dressing up as a devil and was trying to decide what to wear, himself. He had the idea of a missionary (FUNNY) and Joy came up with the idea of him wearing a name tag that read "HELLO my name is GOD" (even funnier because it's an inside joke among those of us Buffy nerds). He did make a great devil, though.

Faith, ever into holiday theme dress, wore this to church on the 30th except with black tights.

On the afternoon of the 31st, we had Ann and her kids over for a Halloween party. We made mini pizzas that looked like jack-o-lanterns, ghosts or bats and ate Rice Krispy pumpkins with a chocolate surprise inside.

The kids played games (that Faith made herself!),

and won little treats and prizes.

After the party, we stopped by Toys-R-Us for Faith's little coupon shopping trip. She opted to use hers and some birthday money to buy a Moxie doll instead of something small. We owed Christian some money and he wanted the pirate doll so he could play along.

We got free donuts at Krispy Kreme (a Halloween promotion)

then stopped by WalMart for the other part of Faith's gift--the Moxie horse that is battery operated.

We got home and finished costuming up for the big night. I love that Buddy is acting dead in this photo!

Here is a shot of our jack-o-lanterns and our skull bowl with the hand that reaches out to grab trick-or-treaters. I took the kids around our neighborhood,

then we visited Grandma & Grandpa Peterson,

(my dad took this cute shot of us)

and Grandma & Grandpa Braegger and Tammy.

We had a very fun Halloween!
