First half of October

On October 1st Faith had a soccer game (Buddy's just wearing one of her old jerseys for fun) and then we played at the park.

Christian used some of his Walmart gift card from his birthday to buy some new pets: Seamonkeys. It was great timing because Faith was currently doing a report for school on brine shrimp.

On the 8th we made monster machines at Lowe's,

had another soccer game, then went to the pumpkin patch with Tammy and Zach. We originally went to Day Farms, but they weren't starting their hayrides until Monday, so then we checked out J & J Nursery. They were doing one that was free when you donated food for the food bank. They had cute photo ops

and a hayride to the pumpkin patch. It was sprinkly, muddy, and chilly, but we still had fun!

The kids loved their pumpkins!

Afterward, Tammy took us to Sonic for lunch and treats.

On the 9th we enjoyed more Halloween festivities at Lagoon.

This statue creeped Buddy out even before he knew it was a real guy!

On the 12th it was "crazy sock day" at elementary. Tony made a special trip to the store on his way home from work the previous evening to pick up these beauties.

Also that day, Christian kicked my butt at "Pretty Pretty Princess" game,

and I made candy corn shaped meringue cookies.

The 13th was "crazy hair day" and I think, yet again this year, we hit it out of the park.

I'm not a fancy-hair-do kind of mom, but every once in a while I step it up :)

On the 15th the kids and I met up with Tammy, Tina and Zach at Gardener Village. We saw lots of witches, some were real,

and others not so much.

Highlights were lunch at Archibalds & face painting!

On the 16th we were at Lagoon again. We sure made good use of our passes this year!!

More haunted houses were enjoyed.

And lots and lots of rides!

Here is some of Buddy's artwork from preschool. I especially love the yellow rectangle with the black boxes on the bottom middle. He had Miss Kelly write on the back "City of Ember" because we had recently watched the movie. Faith read the book for her book report!

On the 18th Christian and I worked on a fall craft project. We got out the shaving cream,

swirled some paint into it,

then dipped and sqeegeed some paper leaves. Pretty!

It got even more crazy fun after the project was finished :)

I LOVE Faith's hairdo! Next time Alyssa has crazy hair day I'm sending her to your house!
