May 2015

Here's my snuggle Buddy on May 1st. He and Skittles love a fuzzy blanket and a heating pad!

Since it was May Day, I made cream of wheat topped with cream and berries arranged into flowers.

After dinner that night, we make cupcake cones decorated with gumdrops & gummy worms!

On the 2nd we had soccer games,

then drove to Brigham City to check out the Amish goods store

where we got some great cheeses and meats from the deli,

and Christian got a humongous bag of (Lucky Charm) little crunchy marshmallows!! Kid's crazy :)

We then went to "Avengers: Age of Ultron" movie.

Bud was still off track on May the 4th (be with you) so we celebrated Star Wars day in the most awesome way we could think of (or find on Pinterest, as it were)--with a Chewbaca & Tie Fighter breakfast, of course!

The next day, Joy invited us for a Cinco de Mayo party. She made chicken enchiladas & a tomato salad, mom & dad brought corn & guacamole, and I brought nacho cheese sauce & chips.

There was Mexican music, maracas,

and even a piñata!

Joy filled it with little toys and art supplies instead of candy, and Christian was excited that he got this bug catcher which he filled with s bug the next day.

I brought a craft which we ran out of time for, but Joy sent me a picture text with her awesome creation,

and Brandt's (who loved picking the colored paper off as much as gluing it on!).

The 7th was the year end color guard banquet. There was salad and lasagna from Olive Garden and the girls received some gifts,

including these cute flip-flops.

On May 8th, Buddy made and posted to Facebook the following:
Ooookaayyyy.

On the 9th, the DeVere's needed a babysitter at the last minute and asked if Faith was available. She was and got her first babysitting job. They paid her way too much ($35 for only four hours) and when I emailed to tell them, they asked if she would be their regular sitter most weekends! Their cute girls are Kennedy, 6 and Indiana, 3. Here's a picture I snagged from Amanda's Facebook page:

The 10th was Mothers Day and I was mentally hunkering down to weather the emotional storm that it usually is. The kids still didn't do some light house cleaning that I asked to be one of only two gifts I wanted, a week in advance to give them enough time, and reminded them about it several times a day.

But, they did (orchestrated and led by Tony) wake up early to make me breakfast in bed, gave me gifts of nuts and a Contigo water bottle, get us all to church early (as evidenced by the clock photo I took from the CUSHIONED BENCH. This was the other gift I asked for.), a cute message as my phone's screen saver and a bouquet of roses!!!!!

After Tony took a cute pic of me & the kids, Faith posted this cute message on Instagram and Facebook 💕
It was a wonderful, happy day!!!

Buddy discovered a new place to hang out with me other than by the front window. Here he is on the 12th.

That night, the kids and I went to a jump workout class at Sky Trampoline Park. It's taught by Tiffany Smith (one of my Riot coaches) and was awesome! And super hard!! I didn't take my phone in, so the kids recreated the moment when we got home :)

On the 13th, Tony burned the weeds off our garden before looking it up and discovering that's a no-no. Buddy sure loved the fire!

For Riot, we spent some time at the KOA kickboxing gym. Lots of fun, but super tough and end up with tons of bruises! Love feeling powerful with my hands wrapped and in boxing gloves.

Here's a candy poster I made for a primary graduate who earned her Faith in God award on the 17th.

That afternoon Tony & I walked while the kids rode their bikes.

Here is the property where the new elementary school will be.

May 19th was Faith's final choir concert of the year.

I joined a team of ladies for a fitness challenge at work. We earn points for exercising, eating right, and other healthy habits. We earn extra credit for taking a group fitness class and sending in pictures of it. Here was my entry for the week of the 20th:

On the 22nd we went to Red Lobster with a $50 gift card I had gotten from work. We feasted huge! Christian wanted to try a lobster tail, so we let him. We put away several pounds of crab legs and Faith had lots of shrimp!

We didn't do much for Memorial Day on the 25th, but we did eat on flag plates,

planted our garden,
and had a BBQ with grilled hot dogs for dinner.

I loved this writing assignment Christian brought home from school.

And I just had to post a few more of Faith's selfies!!
Here was my health challenge entry for the 29th.

April 2015

I dropped the ball as far as April Fools tricks, but Faith managed some pretty sweet artwork on her brother as he slept!

Tony was on vacation from work and the kids were out of school on spring break, so on April 2nd we headed to Dalt Lake and made a stop by our favorite candy factory.

The kids glazed pottery about five years ago and have been begging to do it again ever since, so we took them to Color Me Mine. Faith made a rainbow mug which read "I 💜 my yorkie" and Christian made a pirate cup.

Afterward, we had dinner at Chuck-a-rama.

Here is a drawing Faith made awhile ago of Cinderella's castle. Amazing!

On the 3rd we enjoyed a festival of grilled meats at Tucanos. Buddy managed to out-eat us yet again! And he didn't pass up the chicken hearts, either.

And we hung out at the planetarium!

The morning of the 4th was the neighborhood Easter hunt. This year it was held at the church.

Tony and I had spent many hours cleaning out the basement, so we borrowed a trailer and hauled a bunch of stuff to the dumps and the D.I.

That afternoon was the Braegger Easter party.

Little Liam & Riley were so cute!

We came home and colored eggs late into the night.

On Easter morning, the kids were excited to find baskets of candy and new kites!

I made a huge Easter/Conference breakfast buffet featuring bacon, sausage, deviled eggs, hash browns, omelettes, and Mickey waffles!!

Tony even made Skittles her own plate.

In between sessions, we enjoyed the kites at the park.

After conference, we had Easter dinner and a hunt at Peterson's.

Faith changed her Facebook profile and the picture was so cute.

I finally took her get well cards off the wall. She got some really sweet ones from school,

her friends,

(Rage Rinehart drew the darling picture of her!)

and her fellow Beehives.
Buddy made these at school:

Faith painted this pup with water colors.

And Bud made these:

Here are the kids' soccer games on the 11th.

Tony helped Bud make his first pinewood derby car on the 13th.

On the 15th we had a big snowstorm and skittles had to peep in the snow!

April 16th was the pinewood Derby!

Christian's car was not the fastest, but he still got an award and a certificate :)

The 18th was the kids' spring piano recital, and they both did marvelous jobs!

Afterward, we had some fun at Lagoon with Joy and her kids while Jordon was on a business trip.

On the 19th Tony took the family shooting at the bountiful gun range and it was the first time the kids got to shoot their shotguns.

Faith wasn't holding hers tight enough against her shoulder, so the kickback really bruised her arm and made her cry. But she was brave enough to give it another go at the end of our time there!

On the 21st I went to training for a new position I was offered with JetBlue. I am now a Blue Buddy! I still mostly work me regular reservations shifts, but get to pick up some shifts where I take calls from new hires who have questions or need help. I really enjoy it!

My training class was a great group and I loved that it was taught by Claudia Stevenson who was my original trainer three years ago.
Mom & dad came to Christian's soccer game on the 25th.

They came to Faith's later that day, but left at the very beginning because the wind picked up and the clouds looked very threatening. It started to downpour after they had only played one quarter. We thought they would call it, but they made the girls play for another 30 minutes in freezing rain! Christian, Skittles and I watched from the car, but Tony took our Yorkie umbrella and held it for himself and Coach Sabin. Tony mentioned that it wasn't the manliest umbrella, but Coach said at that point he didn't care!

We celebrated Tony's 44th birthday on the 26th. My mom even made him chocolate lush :)

Cutie Bud making an impression of his face on the 27th. He was off track from school and we got to hang out.

On the 28th I had to work, and my guy wanted to be near me so he watched a movie on his iPod.

I made his special breakfast on the 29th,

and then got him his one special request--dry ice to do experiments with!

The next day our special outing was to get my guy a giant Slurpee :)
